Crystal was a 1973 32' Dreadknot Full Keel Double End Sailboat with a 2" thick Fiberglass Hull and beautiful custom Mahogony cabin. She was given to us by a tweeker friend of mine who did a real nice job on the custom Mahogony interior but really messed up a lot of stuff on the engine. I had to rebuild the Bosch starter, water pump and fuel pump in order to get her Volvo Penta 2 cylinder diesel running. We had just stood the wood mast and then came across a top of the line 65' aluminum mast with 5/16's stainless standing rigging. We had 5/16's Norsmans with top of the line stainless turn buckles to fit. I cut 20' off of the mast so that it would fit in my driveway, and immediately sold the boat to Elijah for $3,000. Elijah didn't want the aluminum mast so we wound up cutting it up and it is still in my driveway, but I hope to get it out soon. We lost a little bit of money on the deal, but it was good to get $3,000 cash.
