Mona was given to us for $1 by a rich guy back in Mandalay Bay. The conditions were that we could not work on her at his dock. So, Dominic and I towed her out of there with an inflatable and took her to the day dock in Channel Islands Harbor, where we put on a pair of carburetors along with fresh fuel and new batteries. The port engine ran real good but the valves were frozen up on the starboard engine. We were able to navigate the boat with the port engine and got a temporary slip in the Channel Islands Harbor. I then drove her up to Santa Barbara on one engine and later wound up doing a valve job on the starboard engine. I then sold her to Rob and Lucy for $6,000 and helped Rob drive her down to Marina Del Rey
